A Context-Based Semantics for SPARQL Property Paths over the Web (Extended Version)

Abstract As of today, there exists no standard language for querying Linked Data on the Web, where navigation across distributed data sources is a key feature. A natural candidate seems to be SPARQL, which recently has been enhanced with navigational capabilities thanks to the introduction of property paths (PPs). However, the semantics of SPARQL restricts the scope of navigation via PPs to sin...

Continuously Updating Query Results over Real-Time Linked Data

Existing solutions to query dynamic Linked Data sources extend the sparql language, and require continuous server processing for each query. Traditional sparql endpoints accept highly expressive queries, contributing to high server cost. Extending these endpoints for time-sensitive queries increases the server cost even further. To make continuous querying over real-time Linked Data more afford...

A Hybrid Approach to Linked Data Query Processing with Time Constraints

In addition to RDF data within documents published according to the Linked Data principles, SPARQL endpoints are also a potential source of a great deal of Linked Data. The execution of queries using languages such as SPARQL can use utilise both of these types of data sources. In this paper we present a hybrid approach to answering SPARQL queries that makes use of both link traversal-based and ...

Sapphire: Querying RDF Data Made Simple

There is currently a large amount of publicly accessible structured data available as RDF data sets. For example, the Linked Open Data (LOD) cloud now consists of thousands of RDF data sets with over 30 billion triples, and the number and size of the data sets is continuously growing. Many of the data sets in the LOD cloud provide public SPARQL endpoints to allow issuing queries over them. Thes...
